Richards Story
Rich has been caving for over 30 years. He started caving in the Yorkshire Dales undertaking many of the classic trips over eight years before moving to South Wales to work in the Outdoor Education Industry. Rich quickly gained his Cave Instructor Certificate, the highest qualification within the British caving Association Award scheme and has held that for 20 years. As well as teaching a variety of age groups Rich has also caved on a personal level in many countries including America, New Zealand, Australia and Europe. This has included original exploration and classic trips such as Lechuguilla and Nettlebed. Richard is also a member of the South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team.
Rich offers bespoke cave training as well as training and assessing the BCA Local Cave Leader Awards and the Cave Instructor Award. Rich also sits on the BCA Qualifications Management Committee and is the Cambrian Caving Council’s training officer.
